The Effect of Neoliberalism on the Working Class in Australia
The way I read the history of Australia is actually neoliberalism could not have been implemented in the late 70s like some other locations because the unions were too powerful. It took a Labour party with its swallowing up or containerising of working class power in order to implement neoliberalism in Australia. And that's the lesson. It's no point being correct about an analysis of historical facts if it doesn't inform what we do now. Are we really going to be able to sit around the table and agree to some Green New Deal where everybody's got shared interests? No. adaptation of climate change is going to be a deeply political contested, classed race project.
