Partially Driving Automation - Is There a Safety Benefit?

The data do indicate that people do feel safer while using the partial driving automation especially to do other activities. It's not clear whether these systems have safety benefits and or risks it might be context specific. We want to make sure that these systems are designed in ways that promote safe use of the technology. The potential for misuse has not been adequately addressed by most systems.
