I never even owned an ounce of gold until 1998 and I started buying a little bit then just gold. It wasn't until the crash of 2000 2000 tech crash that I said to myself, this is a major crash,. This is a secular end to this big bull market. And so I did end up buying. I had got out all my puts by by October 2002, which is right about the bottom. Unlike these tech companies that might have had success with it, doesn't grow in time like other precious metals do.
