The Dynasty of Mircea the Old
Mircea the Old ruled Valaikia from 1386 to 1418. He had at least three and probably more than that illegitimate sons, along with a number of daughters. As with the Ottomans, there wasn't necessarily a preference for any one son to succeed. With so many possible heirs, that meant a lot of opportunities for foreign powers to meddle.
