The Importance of Comparing Manuscripts
Erasmus used two manuscripts as his base text. If there were readings in the other manuscripts that he thought were more original, he would write those in place of what the other manuscript was. So he's producing a single text with one version of every passage in the New Testament. And all of these other translators are then taking his Textus Receptus text as sort of the definitive thing.
