The Victorian Era and the Role of Class in the Treatment of Women

Not that long ago, people thought women weren't as strong and couldn't take certain things. It's a class thing largely because only certain people can afford to be that weak. If you're a working-class woman or man, then there's obviously no chance of having a little rest here and there. And it's what they showed as well. So I mean, they were novels and literature around that time was actually quite a good way for women to get their voices heard. Not everybody's going to want women's voices heard, particularly in relation to the domestic and repression and how women are treated at that time.
