The Cross Means Something About Jesus

The cross means something about who Jesus is. His eulogies recorded later in Philippians 2 suffering servant he was always that. The cross did not tell us anything that Jesus had not been telling us every day of his 33 year life all that the cross did was punctuated what he had been saying. How we treat the poor is how we treat God and Jesus isn't teaching something new here he's borrowing familiar sheep and goats imagery and blessing and cursing language to connect his teaching in Matthew 25 with the book of Genesis.
