God could have continued to speak the creation into existence, but instead now he's doing it through people. So I often think about this as God intentionally having left creation unfinished. As teachers, you're creating a curriculum. You can't really see it. It's just that this process through which students are walking through and then maturing them in an area of thought is very important.
