From starwars is a trilogy that's a continuous story. To do that for lord of the rings and seeing what happens in the third one just would not work. The prequel movies have gained some unironic love from modern audiences after the ironic sort of lay of it became a thing on the internet. And i think us being able to see the sequel trilogy and match the sequel trilogy kind of chewed the pricl trilogy, it has helped us see the things the pricl Trilogy did well.
