Alchemy - Jupiter's Dream - The Lone and the Unicorn
This one is called Jupiter's Dream, the conjunction of the sun and moon. And it was a very spontaneous painting. I had this giant canvas that sat in my studio for years just blank. But when it came down to it, the inspiration hit me in a flash. The colors red and white reference the alchemical sulfur and mercury. That's how the alchemists portray those opposing principles.
