Niger's Former Western Backs Leader, Mohammed Bazoum, With France's President Emmanuel Macron
Mali and Burkina Faso also had coups led by nationalist military leaders that kicked out the French soldiers. Niger became France's partner of last resort after Mali withdrawal. This is rather ironic because Niger played a crucial geo-strategic role for French neo-colonialism. And I'm going to talk more about Bazoum later.
