The History of the Transatlantic Cable

The first transatlantic cable was laid in 1858. The project to lay a transatlantic cable began in earnest in 1857 with the cable manufacturing process. On August 16, Queen Victoria sent the inaugural message for their joint feet. But within a few weeks, the line was dead because of very high voltages of electricity.
