Conscription and the War in Vet
The women of save our sons were particularly angry about the way conscription was done. Numbers were dragged out of a barrel and if it was your birthday, you would be called up to fight in war. They also advised young men about how to avoid fighting by filling in the form to apply to be a conscientious objector.
