I guess there's also a deeper issue that the participation in public life may be something that we ought to learn from the ancient something that's valuable. Of course, the difficulty is giving people the actual leisure and the actual resources to make good use of that space. And that's where we get back to equality. You need equality of access to that. If you don't have that, then the space becomes dominated by a narrow group of power brokers who come out of affluent positions.
