We've Had Two Repeat Cycles, and It's an Odd Thing
The relationship between India and China has gone through two cycles. Both sides, ironically, were weak states when they first met in 2,000 years ago. They find it difficult to co operate with each other because their moves are not convincing. There's an issue of trust there, which is a tautology, right? If you feel the other side keeps promises then you might begin to trust them. And what do they get from history that could see themThrough? The last point where we have struck a deal does this make us more likely to honour it?
