There is a vocal constituency in Turkey who think that the foreign press got this wrong. He hasn't and he hasn't you know there are videos circulating of him online recently from when he was first elected calling for LGBT citizens rights to be protected. There were amnesties for people who were jailed for speaking Kurdish in parliament for instance as well as spearheading a peace process which they then violently abandoned on the economy.
