The principle could be rolled out for any kind of complex decision involving large numbers of people, multiple options and so on. Could you give an example of how this would be cashed out in a real life situation? Yes, I can give an example from what we do about the risk of damage done by nuclear radiation. Think about these two possible cases. One where radiation escapes from a nuclear plant and is rather widely distributed across the whole country. Another where radiation escapes in a way that means it isn't spread very widely.
