What Is the Appeal to Do of Doom or Optimism?
I think one of the reasons it works is that it's not framed as an oppositional politics at all. It just seems like a complete dead end to me versus at least the appeal to do of doom or optimism to me anyway. I would say, you know, not, uh, Buchanan, but the, the maligned perot. That it's sort of what American industrial policy once was on some level. But the doom or optimism doesn't think on that scale. The thinking on that scale is just simply not possible anymore. There's levels of complexity where epistemologically that you just can't and then even in doing so, you risk going insane.
