The Golden Age of Gupta India
Chandra gupta the second ruled until 415, and his reign was arguably the golden age of gupta india. He was able to pacify various warlike tribes in the north that had been harassing and impeding trade with the rest of asia. The guptas also encouraged a return to worship of the hindu gods and deitiesso. And so under the guptas, india really became the great cultural centre of the whole indian ocean basin.
