Influenza Vaccines - The World Health Organization Does the Guessing
In any given year, a handful of flu strains is in circulation. Vaccine makers therefore need to know what strains to build into their ac senes. But it's impossible to know for sure which strains will circulate in the upcoming season. It is, however, possible to guess. The world health organization, the w h o, does the guessing. They meet twice a year to study the existing global incidents of influenza and they reco mend four strains to be included in the upcoming seasons vaccines. Last year, just zero point two % of collected samples were positive.
