The law is not exactly on their side section 230 of the communications decency act says that Online companies can't be held responsible for what you or I post on them right where third party Publishers. What that means is that if you decide that a social media company has helped draw your child into the world of eating disorders for instance um, you can't necessarily Be guaranteed that you're going to get a hearing in the courts this came before the supreme court they really didn't want to mess with section 230 and that leaves these families in the midst of lawsuits.
