Interviewing an Acutely Manic Patient

Research suggests that initial manic episodes are often provoked by a very significant, either physiological or life stresser. People who tend to have repetitive manic episodes seem to be able to get into them faster and to be harder to treat. It's important to think about how their emotions are going to impact yourmoto s and how to sort of handle that m during the interviewto still be an effective clinition. Often manic patients will give incredibly inciteful comments about something that's going on. They can ask, like, intense personal questions. And so that's something to be aware of and to be prepared for, really.
