Is There a Safe Way to Extibate Hypercaptic Patients?
If they'ree easy to ventilate and you can get any ph that you want, i'd typically shoot for p h around seven point three o so they hold on to their bicarb. But that being said, if they're difficult to ventilately, i'd be happy with the lower p hs. So let's then talk about weening off the vent cause this is what i think scares a lot of people upfront about intimating these patients. How do i time my spontaneous breathing trials and getting them off the vent? What's the safe way to get them off the big vent and onto a mechanism that lets them fly?
