The Importance of Perspective in Political Interventions

perspectives taking exercises have been shown to improve our integrative relationships including in political context. If we were to motivate people to take the other side's perspective you would nearly find that their brain responses might become more similar to the other side. We're just really bad at basically trying to explain our side to another person and that's why we often tend to talk past each other rather than talk to each other.
