The Millennium Wave at Chopoo
A single wave at Chopoo made you like the most household band surfer in the world. That's what that wave represented really, because until then, the technique of towing and the usage of that to try to ride waves that were unrideable was kind of a gray area. And so we weren't getting, when I say we, you know, buzzy, derrick, the strap crew, kalama,. All the guys that we were, had been surfing together and using the technique to ride bigger waves than people had ever served.
