The Physiognomic Expression of the Old Jehovah Principle
In this weakened sunlight, in this moonlight shining down from the earth, the esoteric Christians saw the physiognomic expression of the old Jehovah principle. They imagined that when the sun shines perceptibly on the earth, it sends down its rays and makes all budding and burgeoning life shoot out of the earth. But then, when the days become shorter, they said, the sun increasingly withdraws its physical power from the earth.
