The Parallels Between Freemasonry and Mormonism
The Mormon Church themselves try to disassociate certain aspects of Freemasonry from the Mormon Church today. Cheryl Bruno explains that at the time the similarities between the Mormon temple ritual and down ritual and the Freemasonic royal arch degree have these extreme similarities. Some later Mormons, specifically Henry C. Kimball, actually did believe that the endowment ritual in Mormonism was passed down by God in its original form at the temple of Solomon. But that the form that Freemasons used was a degenerated version of that.
