The Importance of Affective Realism in Gun Use
The idea that you can be rational about in how you use a firearm is just inconsistent with the wiring of the brain. Effect gives you a sense of certainty that your decisions are correct even when they're not, right? Even when you're seeing something that isn't there. And so a lot of times we have these feelings of certainty about things that are being generated by our brain that aren't necessarily reliable.
