You Don't Take Country Writing, You Write the Country Writing?

I was really interested in the piece about this distinction between nature, writing and writing of the country. I've always slightly considered country writing as something you find in second-hand bookshops,. These slightly obscure, busty volumes from the backwaters of the countryside. Very local kind of thing. It's a good thing to disturb my pedantry.
