The History of Catholic Spain

In 1491, Spain's new Christian rulers completely went back on their promises to Muslims and Jews. Over the years that followed, an estimated 40,000 Jewish people were exiled from Catholic Spain. However, approximately 50,000 Sephardic Jews were given leave to remain, but only on the condition that they convert to Christianity. And so began one of the single most horrifying periods of human history,. One in which madness, violence, torture, and death all rode under the guise of a loving and forgiving institution.
