Patients do not articulate to themselves in any serious way how they want to make medical decisions. Part of the problem is that there really isn't a category called medical decision. There are questions about whether you want to be alive into these circumstances. And their patients do have opinions, not irritable preferences. But education doesn't work - it's everybody's preferred solution to everything.
