The Importance of Making a Point
Sally Kohn: My father was in the Navy during the Vietnam War, but he was a dentist. He's one of those, what they call great Americans, because he grew up at West Point where the army officers are trained and his father was a doctor there. When you get out of high school, his dad said, I think he should go away to school son. And so he ended up going to where the Navy officers are trained. But he graduated in 24 and World War I ended in 22. That was a really kind of a time when I didn't need a lot of Naval officers.
