The Ganges Water Machine
The idea was proposed in the 19 seventies. But no one actually quantified and provide an evidence that this is happening. The dry six months, between november and april, there is less than ten % of the annual rainfalls. There are a hundred and 65 million people in the country,. so you have to produce crops. And during the dry season, farmers produce primarily rice crops. It takes about 500 millimeters to produce high-yielding bor rice. So they're bringing water to the surface to produce something like burwether. That helps make water available a year round, and then also kind of mitigates flooding.
