The Sisonids and the City of Palmyra

As the sisonids crashed into syria, two roman officials stepped forward to organize a defence. The first was a general named belista who organized a pseudo guerilla campaign and harassed sharpwors supply lines. The other official was one of valerian's chief financial officers, fulvius macrionus,. They were unable to prevent sharpor from marching into asia minor on a campaign that sharpor's own propaganda claimed led to the sacking of 36 roman cities. By the end of the year, though, constant harassment and the fatigue of his own men led sharper to op for withdrawal back to sasonid territory laden with captured slaves and treasure.
