The Risks of Waiting for Surgery for a Cold

If you've had a URI within the last 30 days prior to surgery there has been shown to have an increase two to three times increased risk of laryngospasm as well as prolonged emergence. The recommended time of waiting is at least two weeks from common cold if you can right before from the time that they're well wait another two weeks until you sort of schedule the surgery if they've had pneumonia I would actually wait at least eight weeks if you can so it's kind of a gray box but I do proceed knowing that there's an increased risk and you proceed with caution but you tell the parents.
