Is There a Start and a Finish?
The way I talk about it with my students now is complete. It's not really supported by any of the course books. There's no kind of grammar guide in the course book that labels it or describes it the same way. But what I tell students is that if you look at a simple form, we're only interested in the truth of the action. That's all. When it happens, how long it takes, none of that matters. And as you said earlier, it exists outside of time. So negative verb. Exactly. The choice of the continuous form gives that verb a body that you can kind of manhandle a little bit and feel. This is how I show the difference
