I thought sort of how I feel about like when people are like, why is there to sex? There shouldn't be sex in books or something because you're like, well, me dear is just about someone's life. And like you're saying that no one has sex. Mm hmm. It's not that bad. Why not try like like romance books or just books with sex in them that the people are enjoying? That feels like a good step forward. Like if you're not comfortable yourself like diving into porn or like talking to your husband or further about the porn, like you're not consuming porn technically.
Welcome back to the Doing It agony aunts miniseries, where Hannah and her assistant Megan answer your questions with friendly advice! This week is all about feelings about porn - about your partner watching porn, examining discomfort about porn, and finding positive stories about porn. All the general narratives are either about conflict, secrecy, shame and, if you're lucky, maybe it's played for lols. But having examples of positive stories and interactions with porn can help us all build new frameworks in how we feel about it and hopefully have a positive impact on our relationships too.
