The Great Guide of Human Life
David hume famously said, a wise man always proportions his belief to the evidence. He saw science and religion as two things that aim to do the same thing you. The main difference between these guys and David hume is that hume didn't have as much of an agenda to promote science as the means to arrive at understanding about the world. But in our quest as human beings to make sense of this maelstrum of seemingly random phenomena happening all around us, custom should be our guide.
