Urban Gentrification in the Ancient Roman World
Ancient Rome had a global sensibility that we have to day, which at the time wasn't completely global. You see wealthy people pushing lower income people out of an area. And so you can actually see this gentrification taking place where these rich, cosmopolitan romans are coming in and changing the orientation of streets. It's a lesson in how colonization works on mercantile societies like rome.
