The Origins of Davidic Sonship

Davidic sonship opens the door immediately to this unique feature of divine sonship. The oil of anointing that you might say sacramentally bestows upon him the grace of divine sonships. And so when you look to see this Davidic kingdom covenant established with the son of David who becomes the son of God, the second thing that emerges with great force is OK. This is the birth of what we would call Christology, messianism; it isn't just Jesus Christ.
