I doubt that you could find an American politician who has a greater clarity of view in what his opinions are about world affairs. He's obviously thought out his position and expresses it with surprising clarity. I think to emphasize the reciprocity point at this point in time is both clever and realistic. Our relationship with China economically should be win-win. We need things like favored status, we need to allow their citizens to buy land. That's China's worldview. They have a zero sum worldview with everything. A we win, you win scenario is outside of the Chinese way of thinking.
