In many ways Britain certainly won the war, but what would have peace looked like at that time? What if we can go into a counterfactual, say Halifax had got his own way, and Hitler had agreed for peace with Britain? How would the world have been divided? Obviously it's always very difficult to play counterfactual games, but that's kind of the idea. Put yourself in those positions, think about the outcomes he allows you to reflect upon the actual choice that was made.
