The Effects of Framing on Catchers Positioning

Ben Zuckerman wonders if catchers are being instructed to move forward in the box. Could we figure that out with statcast data? Not publicly, but there is at least the possibility of figuring it out. I think this is largely an artifact of framing. When framing really caught on when teams started stressing it and paying attention to it That's when these numbers started to creep up.
