How to Integrate a K-Nic Into a House
I've got countless ESP8266 running in my home. Honestly, it's probably way cheaper just to buy one even though they're not cheap. I designed some neat little PCB that has a temperature and humidity sensor and an ESP8266. And within the cabling for the K-NICs, I've also got 12 volts. So with just small and small ICs, I could plug these little boards into 12 volts and I threw them in every room. The device takes temperature and humidity and reports it via MQTT to my server or to home assistant. These temperature values are then taken by home assistant and mirrored onto the K and X bus so that the heating actuator
