What Was It Like Meeting Your Birth Mother?

When they pushed my birth mother out in a wheelchair, I was still sort of in a state of denial. She also had severe dementia and she had bipolar illness most of her life. So it wasn't like I could connect with her in any rational way. It's funny because I reached out to touch her just gently because she didn't want anybody to touch her. But then she kind of flicked me away anyway.
