The author says media can be seen in two entirely different ways. On one hand it's a window into other people's lives; on the other, an unmediated experience. Media comes from the Latin word for middle: medium is what's coming between you and story. We have this natural desire to be co-creators because that's what we do all the time anyway.
Writer and digital anthropologist Frank Rose shares his insights about how the art of storytelling shapes our world, changes with new technology, and is wired into our brains.
