John Brennan's Security Clearance Appeal Process Is Not Great
Brennan's ability to go on TV and talk ad nauseam as much as he so chooses about the president hasn't changed either. His obligation to protect it remains the same no matter what happens with his security clearance. The next president wants to make John Brennan CIA Director again, he or she can snap his or her fingers and restore John Brennan's security clearance just as easily as Donald Trump can revoke it. "What the president is doing is turning the clearance process into his own little Tammany Hall for lack of a better term," says Julian Zelizer.
