Atherogenic Lipoprotein Phenotype
With sugar intake, added sugar intake, it is proposed that there is this increase in triglycerides. This trifecta is known as the atherogenic lipoprotein phenotype or atherogenic dyslipidemia. And so it is very much mediated by levels of certainly postprandial triglycerides. We end up with lower HDL, with higher LDL, but particularly this increase in the particles that are small and dense,. And we've got high triglycerides.
