Generation X - A History of the Pop Culture
The band were short lived, but they were in constant dialogue with the pop culture of ten to 15 years earlier. And even their name was a reference, because generation x were named after a book published in 19 64,. About a series of fights on beaches across the south coast of england between what at that point amounted to two gangs. These were fights between the old guard, the rockers, people who represented the recent past and those who wouldn't go away.
