The Effects of Pre-Ovulatory Double Check Rules on Fertility
In order to confirm ovulation with temperature, we're looking for three temperatures that are higher than the previous six. That mucus rule is then cross-checked with basal body temperature. What they found was that after 13 cycles what they said was 1.8 per 100 women of the cohort experienced an unintended pregnancy. And where we get the 99.4% efficacy is that the pregnancy rate when they looked at women who had no unprotected sex in the fertile window as defined,. Only 0.6 out of each 100 women experienced an unintendedregnancy per 13 menstrual cycles.
